Kandukuri Veeresalingam Pantulu (16 April 1848 – 27 May 1919) was one of the greatest social reformers, writers, and educationists in Andhra Pradesh. He was born in Rajamahendravaram (Rajahmundry), in present-day Andhra Pradesh. He is widely regarded as the Father of the Telugu Renaissance for his efforts to modernize society through education and social reform.During the 19th century, Veeresalingam worked tirelessly to improve the lives of women and promote equality. He strongly advocated women’s education, supported widow remarriage, and campaigned against child marriage and other harmful social practices. His reform efforts faced significant opposition, but he remained committed to bringing positive change.As a writer, he made remarkable contributions to Telugu literature. 

In 1874, he founded the magazine Vivekavardhini, which became a platform to spread awareness about education, social justice, and reform. He also established schools, libraries, and organizations dedicated to women’s welfare and public education.Kandukuri Veeresalingam believed that education was the key to building a progressive society. His lifelong dedication to literacy, social equality, and humanitarian values earned him lasting respect throughout Andhra Pradesh., and statues.
